For many years now it's been Stephen G. Ruby, MD, MBA. But for you it's just Steve.
I know many of the risk management issues and challenges that you face as a physician. HOW do I know this? It’s because before starting WhiteCoat Risk Management, I too was a practicing physician who was confused and challenged by the many different responsibilities that I had to manage, including protecting against the risks that came with a medical practice. Over my 33+ years of practice as a pathologist, I held just about every management position in the professional groups that I was in. I also started, managed, grew and sold a medical laboratory, so I experienced the business challenges of a physician entrepreneur first hand.

For three decades, I too had to deal with the risk management protection of the three major areas of my life. Protection for my professional practice. Protection for my business. And more protection for my personal life.
Over those years, I spent countless time talking with insurance agents and representatives for the various elements of protection I needed. One person to help me protect my personal assets. Another for life and disability protection. Someone else for the workers comp and other business protection, and yet another for my professional medical malpractice protection. The amount of confusion and conflict between these facets of my life and those who were providing risk protection became overwhelming.

And that’s when the seed for WhiteCoat Risk Management (WCRM) was planted.
