Update On Cybersecurity And Digital Threats

We all know that cybersecurity is an issue that each person and company (i.e. practice) needs to deal with.  But how many of you have said...

  • It won't happen to me
  • I will take care of cyber threats tomorrow
  • Anyone can hack passwords, so why bother?
  • I have no idea where to start...

Sound like you?  I bet for most of you, it's hitting a bit close to home.  It seems like in this world of medicine and business, there are so many other things... that we simply don't put a priority on cybersecurity.  But you should.

Here are just some recent descriptions of various threats and attacks on health care facilities.  Some are prepared.  Some are not. What would an article say about your company if you were attacked by a hacker?

What to do?

It's relatively simple.  It boils down to three things.

  1. Prepare to prevent being hacked by various threats by education.
  2. Be prepared to recover from an attack by a comprehensive backup plan.
  3. Be protected from the financial impact of cyber threats by a "right-sized" cybersecurity protection policy.

It's important to have a reliable company that knows digital protection to help you with items one and two in this list.  While you may not want to spend the money for these consultants, the amount of money you will spend to recover from an attack will likely be far greater than what you will spend in preventing an attack.

For protection from the financial risk of a cyberattack, it's important for your company to have comprehensive cybersecurity insurance.  Not sure what that means?  Not sure what it will cost?  Give us a call and let us spend some time with you explaining what coverage you can obtain and the cost to your company.

Don't wait.  There are hackers out there right now that are just looking for their next victim.  Don't let it be you.
